Accumulating small successes will lead to big ones. Unfortunately, not many people understand the real meaning behind this phrase. They will always give up their dreams the moment they realised they can't meet their own expectations. But in reality, success is not as simple as moving from point A to point B in a straight path without encountering any roadblocks. Along the way we will definitely face a lot of obstacles. We can choose either to cross over it, walk around it, find a detour or use whatever workable ways that we can think of as long as it gets us nearer to our final goal even though it might take longer than expected. Does that really matter? Do we have any better options?
大的成功都是由一个个小成功累积而成的，但是有很多人都不理解这道理。他们往往在现实与想象有差异时选择放弃梦想。现实本来就不像想象中那么完美嘛。在追求梦想的路途里总会遇到挫折，我们可以选择跨过去，绕着走，改换路线又或者用我们可以想到的任何可行的方式来解决。只要它让我们更接近我们的最终目标，即使它可能需要比预期更长的时间， 那又如何呢？ 我们有更好的选择吗？
The same theory can be applied in Feng Shui. Many people think that they need to have a perfect square or rectangular property to apply Feng Shui. Once they found out that their property is shaped irregularly or not perfectly squared, they panic and do nothing. Some will think Feng Shui must be used on the entire house. If they have no say in the house, they think they can't practice it. Some will blame that those good flying star sectors in the property is not usable like toilet, store room, stair case. So there is no point to do Feng Shui blah-blah-blah.

STOP IT! Do not let things that we can't do stop us from doing things which we can. If we have no control on the whole property, then start with our room. If our property is unable to give us the full support on what we want, then focus on what it can give.

Today's tips is especially for those who only rent a room. We will use the SMALL TAI CHI (smaller scale) to fit Feng Shui in it. Bear in mind our property is also considered a SMALL TAI CHI of the entire housing area or condominium, don't you think so? The application is exactly the same like how we map the annual or natal flying star into our property floor plan. The only difference is instead of mapping the entire property floor plan we now only map the room floor plan that we rent.

First, get a floor plan. I guess in this case is hard because we only rent a room. Do not let this stop us from doing the things which we can do, remember? So we draw it by ourselves and it does not have to be precise. The difference between an exact floor plan vs a self-drawn floor plan may be just the number of times we need to measure the direction of certain things from the middle of the room. With an exact floor plan, we may only need to measure one time and without it we may need more than once. Not a big deal! But a room is much more easier to handle even without a floor plan because it is just a small space. Just relax~

Steps WITH a Floor Plan:
Find the center point of the room. We can either draw two diagonal lines from one angle to another, the point where the two lines cross is the center point (Image 1). Or we can guesstimate.
Stand in the center and face one of the walls and get the compass reading. In this example, the compass reading is 206° South West (SW) (Image 2). We might think: "Why we are not getting the reading from the property's facing direction or facade?" This is because the property's facing direction or facade is used ONLY if you want to plot the property natal flying star.
Draw nine grids evenly on the floor plan and label the middle box of the measured wall with the direction reading you get, which is SW for this example. After that, fill up the rest of the boxes with the other directions accordingly (Image 3).
Next, fill all the boxes with the yearly flying star and it will look something like Image 4 (Below example is referring to the 2019 yearly flying star). We can reuse this image for another year's assessment without measuring the direction again. Just repeat steps 4 and 5 during the yearly assessment.
Now we have all the information we need and see which flying star we want to chase based on our yearly goal and use that sector more to do something related to the goal. That's it! For example, we would like to learn up some skills this year and we want star 4 to help us on this. Place our study table at the star 4's sector which is North in 2019 and do our learning activities there (Image 5).

Steps WITHOUT a Floor Plan:
Ask ourselves which yearly flying star we need for this year then check where it is located.
Lets assume it is the same room as the above but we do not have the floor plan. Use our common sense to roughly find out the center of the room and stand there with our compass. (Image 6)
Start to turn our body together with the compass in a circular motion on the same spot until the compass's reading shows our desired direction (Image 6).
Using the example above, we need to look for the north direction and place our study table there. Each direction covers 45°. North will be from 337.5 – 22.5°. The strongest Qi will be at the center of the direction, which is around 360° for this case. Try to put the study table around there and measure again to confirm the direction by creating an invisible line from the compass to the center of the table (Image 7).
This method we will need to measure direction again each time we put a new item there.

问问自己今年需要哪个流年飞星，然后检查它的飞宫位置。

The Small Tai Chi technique might not be as powerful as the big Tai Chi (Entire property) but it is better than nothing. Start small and slowly we will become better with all these small effects. Eventually we will be able to achieve a bigger success. This technique can be used for the natal flying star too for a longer term goal.
